Entertainer
Your role as an Entertainer with Beachcomber will be to deliver unforgettable sports and nature experiences to Beachcomber’s guests.
Key responsibilities:
- Organise sports activities and guided tours for Shandrani Beachcomber’s guests, with a focus on personalising each experience according to individual preferences.
- Share personal anecdotes and stories about Mauritius, its cultural heritage and natural sites during guided tours.
- Ensure guest safety and well-being during sports activities, including bike rides, hikes and other trips.
- Work with the Beachcomber Sport and Nature team to offer innovative activities that align with guests’ interests.
- Work closely with the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation to support their conservation projects and involve guests in such initiatives.
- Create a friendly and welcoming environment to encourage active guest participation in the available activities.
- Adapt to current trends and changes in sports activities.
- Help promote sports activities and guided tours to guests and other hotel departments.
- Maintain and service the equipment used during sports activities.
Qualifications and skills:
- A passion for sports, the history of Mauritius and nature.
- Experience in organising sports activities and guided tours, preferably in the hotel or tourism industry.
- Excellent communication and guest relations skills.
- Adaptability and ability to personalise activities according to guests’ interests and preferences.
- Knowledge of local flora and fauna to inform and educate guests about environmental conservation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong spirit of collaboration.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and French.
- A qualification in physical education, tourism or a related field would be an advantage.
- First aid certificate.
