Chef de rang   

As a Chef de Rang with Beachcomber, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the smooth operation of service in a restaurant at Shandrani Beachcomber. You will be tasked with ensuring guest satisfaction by providing an exceptional and memorable dining experience. Your role will also involve mentoring and supporting the team of waiters for seamless, quality service.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor and coordinate restaurant operations, including setting up, serving and clearing tables.
• Maintain high-quality service by greeting guests in a warm and friendly manner, serving them promptly and accommodating their special requests.
• Ensure compliance with the Beachcomber quality standards and service procedures by the team of waiters.
• Provide guidance and support to waiters to upgrade their customer service skills and culinary knowledge.
• Handle customer complaints and feedback in a professional and efficient manner to provide proper solutions to address any issues.
• Work closely with other hotel departments to provide seamless and integrated guest service.
• Ensure proper maintenance of the restaurant and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Contribute to the training and development of the team of waiters to help them advance in their careers.
• Work with the Chef and kitchen staff to ensure food is served to Beachcomber quality standards.

 

Qualifications and skills:

• Significant experience as a waiter or chef de rang in the F&B industry, preferably in an upmarket hotel or property.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills for a professional and pleasant interaction with guests.
• Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage busy periods in the restaurant.
• Team management skills to mentor and motivate the waiters.
• Knowledge of restaurant hygiene and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide seamless service.
• Good knowledge of food and wine to advise guests in their choices.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and French.
