Béatrice, a selfless mother with a courageous heart
Behind the scenes at Shandrani Beachcomber, Béatrice’s story is one of dedication, persistence and courage. This mother of five has worked her way up from waitress to Chef de Rang.
Béatrice joined Shandrani Beachcomber in 2007 at the age of 23, as part of the Projet Employabilité Jeunes (PEJ) programme. At the time, she was looking for a job to support her family. The hotel industry was unknown territory for her, but she quickly got caught up in the energising and exciting atmosphere.
Her core function is to manage the restaurant effectively. She plans, coordinates and ensures the smooth running of operations. She also lends an open ear to guests to forge lasting connections with them.
Béatrice stands out for her good-heartedness and finds motivation in her love and dedication to her children. She made many personal sacrifices and works until very late to secure a better life for her family. Her children inspire her to be courageous and their love drives her to persevere through challenges.
More than just an employer, Beachcomber is a family for Beatrice. She received invaluable support during tough times and is grateful to her supervisors for their guidance and attentiveness.

The Chef de Rang says that having happy and satisfied guests is one of her greatest sources of joy. She gets overwhelmed when one of them thanks her or mentions her name in a Trip Advisor review. Such moments make her feel the happiness that she loves to share.
She is also proud of Beachcomber’s investment in the younger generation and believes in their potential. She actually sees herself as a living testimony of how the Group has enabled many people to grow and thrive.
Béatrice has now become a pillar of Shandrani Beachcomber. Her determination, good-heartedness and dedication to guests and her family have made her a true Artisan of happiness.
