Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, the main duties and responsibilities of the job incumbent will be as follows:
DataWarehousing:
- Create and enhance the enterprise Data Lake and Data Warehouse (DWH);
- Establish automated processes to extract, transform and store data from the different applications of the NMH Ecosystem;
- Devise subsets of the DWH (i.e., Data Marts), whenever specific business units require a different segmentation of the same data;
- Set-up backup and maintenance plans for the DWH and Data Marts.
BI reporting:
- Initiate brainstorming sessions with key business stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements;
- Help business partners (e.g: People & Culture, finance, hotels, sales, procurement etc.) to understand how data can help their business decision process and accompany them in defining KPIs and data used to calculate the KPIs;
- Plan and deliver actionable reports compliant with the International Business Communication Standards (IBCS) using Microsoft Power BI in order to facilitate data-based decision-making processes;
- Link reports to DWH and automate data refresh in the Power BI Service (Cloud).
Analytics:
- Understand the thought process of analysts (at all levels and across departments), help analyse data to explain KPI values;
- Train the relevant business units to extract the best value (i.e the best decision) from the reports published for their business unit;
- Prepare ad-hoc reports in Microsoft Excel;
- Provide data extraction to business analysts across the Company;
- Suggest enhancement on methods and tools for both data warehousing and analytics;
- Perform R&D on how to create a forecast (using Machine Learning Model and other methods) in Power BI.
Candidate Profile:
Skills:
- Proficient in building SSIS processes
- High SQL capabilities
- Proficient in building Power BI reports
- Knowledge around analytics platform plugged on a DWH is a plus
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Excel
Profile:
- Graduated from a recognised tertiary institution with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or IT and at least 5 years’ experience in the field
- Outgoing and customer-oriented
- Able to steer conversation around KPIs at the highest level of the Company
- Being holder of a valid driver’s licence would be an advantage
